An Eventful Valentines Day

Our Valentines Day started out with a crabby baby, I mean toddler at 6:26 AM. After begging her for an hour to go back to sleep with no success I was up. The boys got up around 8ish. Retters and I got ready for church and met my Grandma Lou there. Cody and Emma did daddy stuff, I'm not for sure what they did something about a schematic for a car (this is where he lost me.) Right after church we fueled up and went to spend some tax refund money :) a whole $36.47 on a pair of jeans for me. Lame I know. Its just so hard to spend money on yourself when you start to think what you could buy the kiddos instead. Cody and the kids played in the play place in the bottom of the mall while I was shopping. He said Emma clung to him the whole time (she's my SHY one) while Everett ran around everywhere making friends (he's not my shy one.)

After that we met my sister and Chris at Chucke Cheese's. This prolly wasn't their first choice for Valentine's Day dinning but they took it with stride :) Shockingly Chucke Cheese's wasn't as crazy as it normally is.

Retters ran from one end to the other. His favorites were the Roller Coaster Ride and the Play Place. Emma did NOT run from one end of the other if I put her down she thought it was so kind of torture. (once again she's my shy one) But she did LOVE The Horse Ride and the Carousel.(at least one of my babies like HORSES :))

When we got done with that Cody had to drive Chris' old car to my parents house to drop it off. He ran out of gas on the Nashua exit. He claims it said an 1/8 of a tank of gas but maybe he was wrong... just saying :) Luckily one of his friends lived in Nashua and brought him some gas.

Once the car arrived at Mom and Dad's we went to Hyvee to get what we needed for homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. Then on to Mr. Movies for some DVDs then finally HOME!!! See told you it was a busy day :)

I'm not so sure tonight will be any less eventful we have a Valentines party at the McDonalds Play Place in New Hampton. Hopefully spring comes soon so we can be outside again instead of stuck in these germ invested Play Place, O'well the kids enjoy it and that's all that matters.

I don't know this little girl but did I mention he makes friends well

Dagen & Rylie

I have always had dogs, my whole life, ALWAYS a dog in it. When Cody and I were engaged we would talk about the dogs we were gonna have once we were married. Growing up we had mutts, mutts, beagles, a rott, Alaskan Malamutes, mutts, mutts, lab, mutts, wolves, mutts so I have my favorites of breeds but was unsure on what I wanted other than I wanted a pure bred to offset all the mutts lol. Cody would always say he wanted a weim. I had NO clue what they were until I met him. So once we got a house with a big back yard shortly after came Dagen our pure bred Wiem. Cody named him Dagen because we both wanted it to be something different then just your standard name. My parents are known for naming their animals HORRIBLE names here are a couple examples : Black Mare (guess what she was a black female horse who would have thunk it?), Kitty, Smokey Kitty (because it was a smoke colored cat), Black Kitty, Mama Kitty, White Dog (bet you can guess why yup that's right it was a dog that was white.)the list goes on and on. So all that being said I was completely okay with the name Dagen (in Latin Dagen means Lord of the Outdoors)! We got him in September of 2005. Then comes Everett :)

Then Comes Rylie. One of Cody's friends had her and just didn't want her anymore. She too is a pure bred Wiem. And since we didn't have as much time for poor Daggy Monster (yup what a horrible nickname Cody even put it on his registration his name is "Dagen Hunting Monster" cruel I know :)) We thought why not get her. Well she has proven to be a big pain in my side, but she LOVES my kids and Cody so I let her stay lol. We bred them once the summer after we got her and then she got bred by accident the following winter and after losing both puppies, she went into a deep depression. (yes dogs can get depression.) It was horrible I couldn't stand to see her like that and couldn't imagine what she was going threw so we had her fixed. Rylie and My heart could not take that happening again!

When our dogs are in the house they don't leave the couch. Mind you these are hunting dogs. If we have friends over and their isn't room on the couch they will whine and pace and whine and pace until someone lets them onto their lap or we put them outside. They tolerate anything Everett or Emma would ever do to them. They even nicely take treats from both kids. After Everett watched Toy Story he taught Dagen to "Reach for the sky." The dogs can no longer be in the house during supper time because Emma would much rather find them her food then feed herself.

So we are Two Parents, Two Kids, Two Dogs the perfect family :) Even teams boys vs. girls :) Except Dagen is my dog and Rylie is Cody's. When it's just Cody and I at night when the kids are sleeping if I go in the computer room Dagen follows me and Rylie stay with Cody. If for some reason Cj is on the computer Rylie follows him and Dagen stays with me. It's pretty funny, Cody calls Dagen a trader.

So all though they can be a BIG (they each way about 60#) pain in my side I can't imagine my life with out barking in the background.

Oh The Things Everett Says # 2

The electricity goes out Saturday night... Everett goes into the toy room with a flashlight as it was dark out, then:

Rett: Daddy come here!
Cody: What Retters?
Rett: Daddy, you turn the light on I can't see!
Cody: I can't turn the light on its broken.
Rett: Go ask mommy for a light bulb.
Cody: It's not the light bulb buddy, we don't have any electricity.
Rett: Daddy, you go to the grocery store and get some more electricity.

I was laughing so hard at this in the DARK in the living room! I guess good thing my cell phone has light because that's what I used to round up candles and flashlights. I guess that's why normal people keep flashlights in a "safe place". Ours were all in the camper except for the two that Cody's mom got us for Christmas.

Everett randomly sitting on the couch.

Rett: Mommy, Ashley and Chris coming this weekend?
Me: No, buddy not this weekend, they were just here last weekend and I think Chris has to study.
Rett: Mommy, when is Uncle Chris gonna be done with Preschool so he can come play with me?

My brother in law is studying for his boards in Chiropractic Care needless to say its a little bit different then coloring at preschool.

This one is my FAVORITE!! Everett wakes up from a nap.

Me: Did you have a good nap?
Rett: yeah
Me: Did you have any good dreams?
Rett: Yeah, I had a dream Gramma Shirley came down from heaven and held my hands!
Me: What? (shocked by this normally the answer in yes or no but he doesn't explain the actual dream)
Rett: Gramma Shirley came and held my hands (this time he said it like I was silly for not understanding it the first time)

This just blows my mind as his Great Gramma Shirley died in 2004 and Retters wasn't born until 2006. Sure we talk about her and there's a picture of her and Cj in our dinning room, but never have I told him that she lived in Heaven. I have never even explained anything about Heaven to him. So I completely believe him that his great gramma came down to say hello :)

Gamer!!

Everett has become obsessed with the Wii, Vsmile, Vmotion, and the Computer lately. He has a Mator game on the Wii that he does okay with, mainly just gets bored with it after five minutes. Cody's Aunt Terri and Uncle Jim sent Rett home their Vsmile that their daughter no longer plays with and its probably mean to say but he's actually good at it. I was shocked, you have to walk threw this course and get coins and jump on the right letters of the alphabet and stuff like that and he rocks it! My parents got him a Vmotion for Christmas (that's the little bike you ride on and play games on the TV) its super neat but it stays at their house because I don't want it taking up my living room or getting broke here. Then today he was watching Sesame Street and they advertised going online to play games, he begged and begged and begged to get on the computer. So when I finally let him he also rocked that game. I figured anything Vsmile and Sesame Street is okay because they are based on learning but the Wii he really only gets to play once in a ggggggreat while. But I am still in amazement on how much he grows up each and everyday. He is growing to big toooooooo fast!

Also don't mind the fact that Everett is STILL in pjs. I told him this morning if he didn't get dressed himself he was going to have to wear his pjs all day and guess what? HE DIDN'T CARE ONE BIT! lol. I guess I will come up with a new plan for tomorrow!

My Monkey

I know I have said it before but Emma was born with Cody's daring side. She climbs on everything, I mean EVERYTHING! She's in a toddler bed because she can climb out of her crib which was pretty funny to watch because she really looks like a monkey when she does it. She will NOT stay off the dining room table, I don't know what to do other than take the chairs out of the room. (that isn't happening) Luckily she's never got hurt with any of her monkeying around, but you must still keep one eye on her at ALL times!

Emma decided Rett's food was better than hers

Doesn't everyone stand on the back of the toilet to wash there hands?

She puts herself in her seat when SHE decides its time to eat.

She even climbs the stairs like a "big person"

My Crafty Babies

Everett loves to get out the crayons and color so for Christmas Santa got him some finger paints in his stocking. I will admit that I hadn't taken them out of the box yet for fear of how big of a mess they would make. But shockingly he didn't do to bad, nothing a little Spray and Wash couldn't handle. I had him paint on the kitchen floor so that he wouldn't get paint all over the carpet.

Emma got a little jealous that Everett got have all the fun so she got demoted to coloring on the fridge. I know life is not fair! lol But I was pretty sure she would try and eat the paint.

Retter wants to hand his drawings out as Valentines to his friends. I will have to make a quick run to Dollar General for some heart stickers or something to Valentine them up.
