The Kiddos Party

Since I'm very far behind on blogging I guess I will start with the kiddos birthday party. We had the party in the back yard again, it seams to work out pretty well that way. It was so hot that we asked all the kids friends to bring swimsuits so they could swim. It was a blast, thank you to everyone that came, it really means a lot to Cody, the kids and I.

Their Cakes, Emma had Little Mermaid & Rett had Toy Story

CLEAR LAKE :)

Cody's Aunt/Godmother Mary Ann has been asking us to come see them for probably 3 years and FINALLY we made it there :) They live in Clear Lake, right on the lake so we went pontooning. We had so much fun, almost makes me want a pontoon if not for our lack of money.

Papa I got My Shades On Lets GO!

Grandma Jackie, Everett, and Aunt Brandee

Emma was a little unsure at first.

Mike let Everett drive the pontoon.

When he was driving he down shifted just like on his Power Wheel. Only Cody’s child would know at 3yrs old that there had to be a shifter on there somewhere.

They loved looking at the water. One time when we stopped by some girls (probably around 16 years old) Everett yelled “Hi Ladies”

Emma didn’t take a nap all day. I was counting on her sleeping on the way over, but that didn’t happen. Both kids were still very well behaved even without naps. Emma was sleeping before we even made it off of I35 to The Avenue.

Mothers Day and Mothers Days Gifts

For Mothers Day I thought it would be fun to make garden stone with the kids hand prints in them as gifts. I went to K-mart (I hate Kmart but that would be a totally different post) and got two kits, the kits said it made four each... that was a lie! So to make the most out of it I convinced Cj to at least help me attempt to make them. The plaster dried before one kid, let alone the second could put their hand in it. Cody decided it would be much easier to buy Quick-Crete and I suggested buying "flower pot water catchers" as the molds. This worked SO MUCH BETTER! And was cheaper than what we spend on the plaster ones. (I was able to take one of them back.)
Cody mixing the concrete (told you he's good to have around)

It decided to rain right before we started "our project" so we had to resort to the garage. I know it's a mess I'm sorry.

The kids didn't seam to mind the mess

This is after they put there little hands in them. It was a two person job so I'm sorry there is no action shots of that :)

All done, aren't they pretty? Rett helped me paint the hands and Cody pointed out as we were walking up to his mom's house that Rett painted six fingers on Emma's hand. Awesome lol

We had alot of people we had to hit for Mothers Day, My mom, CJ's Mom, and my two grandma's. We tried to fit everyone in Saturday so we could spent Sunday at home, we weren't successful. Saturday we went to My Grandma Lou's where my parents were building a new hitching rail for her.(my dad had stole Everett earlier in the day and taken him to Grandma's with him) After that we went to Grandma Ila's where my uncle grilled for us.(mmmmmmmm it was yummy) Then on our way home we stopped at Craig and Jackie's house. Sunday we woke up late :) that's a wonderful Mother's Day gift right there! Then we got ready and headed out to my parents house. My mom made lasagna(I know how crappy she had to cook on Mother's Day but no one makes it as good as she does.) Cody, Dad, and Rett went mushroom hunting and Mom, Ash, Em, and I stayed at the house and talked. My sister had to head back to Iowa City so we all called it a day there. Cody and the kids wanted me to pick out some flowers for my birdhouse at Thiesens but nothing really caught my eye so we were home bound. Cody decided he should mow before the rainy week ahead. While Cody is mowing the front yard I will move everything(TOYS!) out of the way, and pooper scooper. Yes!, pooper scooper you could say I get the shitty end of the deal lol.(I really don't mind) After that was dinner and then a movie. We watched Hachi (I'm not sure on the spelling on that) its a SAD movie about a very loyal dog! I had a great Mother's Day and I hope all the other Mommy's out there did too!

(I would insert something mooshy her about my mom, but she doesn't like that soo) Thank You Mom for everything I love you!

The Best Purchase We Made For The Kids Was.....

....A SANDBOX!! We and by We I mean Cody made this for Everett for his second birthday. It is still his favorite thing to do outside. Grandma Jackie and PaPa Craig have been very generous at stocking it with toys over the years. Emma also really enjoys the sandbox. The problem is she loves to throw sand and dump it on her head. And believe me sand isn't easy to get out of all those curls. We have a tarp that clips on the sandbox so all the toys can stay in it without a certain dog...DAGEN chewing everything up. The tarp also works great for keeping the sandbox free of puddles after a couple days of rain. The only thing I would change about it is I would buy the "white sand" because they get really really dirty from this sand.

Saturday Easter

Saturday we had Easter on the Schmitt side, at Cody's Aunt Debbie's house. We had a wonderful lunch, hunted eggs, and played outside. Emma did so WELL at the Easter Egg Hunt you would have thought she was a pro. Everett really got into it also. Then it was home for naps. After naps Craig and Jackie came in for some grilling and a movie.

Meet Snowy Nanner

YAY! It's finally warming up! Retters and I went outside to make a snowman, while Cody and Em went to the grocery store. I got the better end of the deal I know :) Everett had a blast making the snowman that he named Snowy Nanner, because his smile is a banana and well he's snowy. The only issue we had with the snowman was that when we went inside to get supplies for his face some thing (DAGEN, grrrr) peed on your snowman! Yes, you heard me, we were in the house for maybe five minutes and he couldn't find anything better to mark! I was SOOOOOOO mad and discussed, this is why I never plan to have another male dog EVER! So after our photo op with Yellow Snowy Nanner, we moved onto the swing set. (Did I ever mention Cody made this Swing set? no plans just a couple of measurements from Koko and Dewey's swing set. See he's good for some things :).)
EMMA IS FINALLY FEELING BETTER!!! Thank goodness! I thought that poor child was going to be sick forever. She didn't get to play outside today thought we didn't want to take any chances.
I got alot of spring cleaning done yesterday/today. The dining room is all clean except for the carpet. The toy room is organized. The downstairs bath is scrubbed. The tupper ware cabinet is organized. I only have a billion and a half things left to do but at least its progress.
I started doing the biggest loser for Wii again, this time I plan to stick with it. I would love for Cj to do it with me but I don't for see that happening anytime soon. So I will let everyone know how that's going. My "weigh in" is next friday. I of course picked Bob as my trainer: #1 I love him #2 Jillian scares me!
Craig and Jackie were kind enough to take the kids yesterday so Cj and I could have a date night. They put the kids to bed here and Everett woke up at 4:30am crying. When I went in his room he said "I wanted Papa Craig and Grandma J!" I said they weren't here anymore and he cried some more but went back to bed. Oh and Jackie matched my socks :) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I had all the laundry done in the whole house which meant a billion socks and she was sweet and matched them for me!
