Buried Alive

Julie Sonne taught Emma this game that you bury your toes in the sand and then call in the rescue crew aka Everett to rescue your toes. You then have to count you toes and make sure they are all there. The kids love this game. Everett took it one step further and wanted to be completely buried. He helped me dig a really big hole and then we buried him not once not twice but four times. Emma decided that this looked like a lot of fun and joined in! They both sat really still long enough for me to take pictures and then would jump out "like crabs." Or at least that's how Everett told me, I'm not sure if crabs do indeed hide in the sand or not.

Everett thinks he's invisible in this picture...can you spot him :)

In case you were wondering what there bath water look like after this... It WAS GROSS!!!!

And Everett's new thing is to take pictures with my camera (i don't usually allow this)...this would be one of those pictures :) Safe to say Emma wasn't expecting it :)

Puzzles Puzzles Puzzles

Lately Emma has been completely in love with puzzles!

She has to clap when she's all done and say Yay

She love love loves this "puzzle" you can change the outfit the bears wearing. (notice here tutu? also a favorite of her's)

"Hmmmm do I have it all done?"
"Yup, I do...yay Emma"
Rett thought he would join in on the fun!
I don't know what to do about his cheesy smile lol

Emma's been doing so good with these "baby puzzles" I should probably go out and buy her some floor puzzles or something.

We Went To The Zoo

We went to the Como Zoo in Saint Paul, MN on Saturday. I have been begging Cody to take us to the Zoo for some time now, and when I found out this one was free I knew he would be all for it. We convoyed over with Dan and Ashley Shirley and their two daughters, at one point I looked at Cody and said "did you ever think at 24 you would be in a mini-van convoy hauling you kids to the zoo?" We both had a good laugh at that :) Not that's its a bad thing just funny how your life never turns out how you imagine it, but it's still perfect just the same.

Everett & Camden

My Cousin Lindsey lives in St Paul so her and Her Daughter met us at The Zoo (Everett & Adryana...maybe I should have not had them looking in the sun)

The Lions

Emma and Daddy looking at the Giraffes Emma was so funny the whole time, at each exhibit she would point out the balls (some were toys and some were used to find the animals). So at the top of her lungs she would yell "BALL" like she wanted me to crawl in with the lion and borrow it!

This was my attempt to take a cute picture with the kiddos. They both cared more about the animals then the camera

Seal

I maybe wrong but I believe these are Orangutans(see the baby in between his parents...soo cute) The baby was a daring little guy though, I kept thinking he was going to fall.

One tired little baby. She feel asleep with in five minutes of being in the car and slept until we stopped at Medford.

The kiddos did so well at the zoo I barley heard a whine or a fuss out of them. The car ride was getting a little long for all of us, but thank heaven for portable DVD players, and Daddy's with really long arms so he can grab toys when they fall while driving :) Retters keeps asking when we are going to go again.

Fun On The Farm

My parents have been on vacation for almost two weeks now, and why they have been gone I have been helping my Grandma take care of the horses. The kids have loved going out to my grandma's everyday. You can't keep Emma away from the horses! We were playing on the swing set one day and Emma took off for the pasture, out of curiosity I followed her instead of just picking her up. And wouldn't you know it, she crawled right under the gate and right up to my horse. (Of course I was close enough to her, I didn't just let her run up to a massive animal) She gives the horses kisses and pats there heads. Everett on the other hand would rather jump in the mud puddles and chase the dog then have anything to do with petting horses. (He's Cody's mini-me!!)

Claude & PeeWee

I had to feed my horse and given Emma's lack of fear for the horses I didn't just want to let her walk around. She fit perfectly here and couldn't get out :)

A pretty Rainbow on our way out.

Our Kids Count

Our Kids Count is a program put on by one of our local churches. They have different topic every other Tuesday, last Tuesday was "All About Bugs." Since it's aged more towards preschool aged children my friend Ashley took Emma to her house, and Camden came with us. They had pizza and then did a presentation on bugs.

Her and her sunglasses!

Yes, she put them on herself. Yes, she really wears them indoors. Yes, she leaves them on. I blame Aunt Brandee for this she started getting Emma these sunglasses before she could walk. Emma probably has six differnt pairs and the day this picture was taken, she swore she had to wear them while eating supper.

Run Run Run

I know I haven't been blogging that much lately. To say the least it was a rough week. So lets get back up to speed!

My kids love to chase each other around the table. This works out really awesome when they go stir crazy on Rainy Days. Emma giggles the whole time. They are so fun to watch I wish I had half that much motivation :) I know my tables are messy...don't look :)

The Slide

When it comes to things like slides, jumping, anything other than people Emma is all about it. She has no fear! THIS SCARES ME! Everett has always been a little scared of stuff so I don't have to worry that he's going to jump off of something that he should. So both of the kids wanted to go play on this slide. Do you see how huge it is? You can either stop halfway up and go down the slide or go all the way up to the top.
Everett was okay with just going halfway up for oh a millisecond!

I figured if he had enough guts to go up there he could handle it. Have I mentioned I don't like heights and at 24 years old I had no want to climb up there and get him if he got scared? (I don't know if you can see him but he is way up there at the top.)

By this time Emma is just going nutts to go down the slide. She's kicking and crying to be put down. So against HORRIBLE judgement I tell my 22 month old (like she really knew what I was saying or cared to listen) that she could go up there but she had to come down the slide. I sent Everett up before her and told him to block the stairs so she couldn't go. There was also a girl about 7 years old that said she would stop her. So I run to the slide to prepare to catch her AND AND down comes Everett! ME: Everett where is your sister? Rett: She said up! And I look up and there is my 22 month old climbing up to the top of the rocket! It is stairs that wind so I wasn't so much scared that she was gonna fall just that she was gonna get stuck up there. I had to go in and get her as this other mom was laughing at me (probably for being so dumb and allowing this to happen) I was telling Emma to come down and she met me at the slide, all smiles. I may have had a heart attack! That child is going to give me a run for my money!
