My Picker!

Everett learned at a very young age to bite his finger nails! UGH VOMIT!!! He learned this from his daddy and I HATE THAT HIS DADDY DOES IT!! Anywho about two weeks ago he got an engrown hang nail (big shocker this is why people use clippers not teeth!) and he WON'T leave it alone so it can heal. I swear I put 3 bandaids on a day. Then just when I think its getting better the next day I will look at it and he will have picked at it again! Drives me insane and I don't know what to do to get him to leave it alone. THEN! Emma scratch Rett, just a little scratch inbetween his eyes, he had picked at it so many times that now it too is infected! So he has to walk around with bandaids everywhere just so that he doesn't pick at his scabs! Does anyone have any advise to make him and his 24 year old daddy :)to quit bitting their nails? And how to get Everett to stop picking at scabs?

Oh The Things Everett Says #4

We are going to see Aunt Brandee in Chicago in about a month. We are planning on going to the Shedd Aquarium, I have told Everett this. I told him that he would get to see sharks, dolphins, Nemo, and maybe even pet a penguin.

Me: Are you excited to go see Aunt Brandee?
Rett: Yeah and Papa Craig is gonna ride in our Van?
Me: Yup, do you remember what we are gonna do when we go see DeeDee**?
Rett: Yeah see Dolphins and Pet Sharks!
Me: Umm I don't think you want to pet a shark.
Rett: Yes huh.

Later that day:
Rett: Daddy we go see Aunt DeeDee?
Cody:yes we're going to
Rett: I gonna pet a shark, Papa Craig gonna pet a shark, are you gonna pet a shark?
Cody: Only if you go first.
Rett: I not scared!

The Next Day
Rett: Papa Craig you pet a shark with me when we go see Brandee?
Craig: Ehh I don't think I want to pet a shark!
Rett: ~confused~
Craig: Are you going to pet an Alligator too?
Rett: No, They scare me
So clearly when we go to Chicago Everett is gonna come home with a couple less limbs from petting sharks! I CAN NOT convince him that sharks aren't something you pet! Maybe I should have him watch The Little Mermaid or something.

** Aunt DeeDee is what Everett started calling Brandee when he was prolly 14 months and couldn't say Brandee so it would come out DEE DEE. So wouldn't you know when Brandee was home from Christmas we were trying to get Emma to say Brandee, thinking it too would be DeeDee. She said plain as day Brandee :)

Everett had a haircut today:
Me: Come on Everett we are going to be late!
Rett: I don't want a haircut
Me: It will be fine!
Rett: UGH!!! Lets just get this over with (and stomps to the door)

Rosie Cheekers

On Saturday when it was kind of warm out, Everett and I played outside! I attempted to let him play outside by himself as I can see everything from our kitchen window. It was my plan that I was going to do the dishes and scrub the fridge while he played outside with Dagen and Rylie. I wouldn't say I am an over protective mom but I would say that I'm paranoid! Not that he was going to get hurt, our backyard is completely fenced in and we have trust worthy dogs. I was PARANOID that someone was going to steal him from the backyard, hint the two big dogs being outside with him! So my solution to my paranoia was to open both kitchen windows so I could hear him if I needed to. After spending more time staring out the window then doing dishes I gave up and went outside with him. Papa Craig and Grandma J got Everett a sled last Christmas. After pulling Rett around the yard like 10 times while Dagen followed me around I got the bright idea that Dagen should pull Rett around. Husky vs. Whiem same thing right?? WRONG. I think Dagen still hates me for it but Retters had a blast! Then Everett decided it was time to make snow angles after he made one in YELLOW snow it was time to come in and throw his coat and snow pants in the wash! And of course we had to make some hot coco. :)

Our Weekend

On Saturday Cody and I both got hit with a really odd flu. Everett and I went outside to play Saturday afternoon and when we came back in I couldn't get rid of the chills. Cody came home from work a little while later complaining of the exact same thing. Then about a half hour later a soar throat kicked in for both of us at the EXACT SAME TIME! So we canceled plans with our friends that were coming over as we didn't want to further infect anyone else. After tucking the kids into bed we both felt extremely tired, so we went up to bed at 9 on a Saturday night! The next day I felt fine, Cody still had a soar throat but nothing horrible and that was that. I thought for sure we would both end up sick but thank goodness we didn't :)

Emma had her 18 month pictures taken on Sunday. I am very excited to see how they turn out. I had Beka Fox do them with B Pretty Photography. It was a much nicer experience then having Sears do it. Lets just say I haven't had the best experiences with Sears! Don't get me wrong the pictures normally turn out good but its quite the process to get that one good picture. Then your charged an arm and a leg for a bunch of pictures you never even wanted in the first place! So Beka was a breath of fresh air and once I get the pictures I will be sure to post them:) Her website is bprettyphotography.com if you would like to see some of her work.

I am SOOOO FAR behind on the kids scrapbook its sad! My goal is to never be more than a year behind on their books. When it gets close to a holidays I know I haven't scrapbook yet I know its time to drag everything out. So yesterday after Emma laid down for a nap I started scrapbooking the kid's pictures from Easter last year! There is a couple pages I did and one that Everett did below. I got to June 2009 before I ran out of pictures and Cody ran out of energy to man both kids by himself (he does a great job don't get me wrong).

Oh The Things Everett Says # 3

7:45AM Everett comes running in my room histracily crying and throw my blaket over his head!
Me: Hunny, what's wrong I can't understand you when your crying?
Rett: There's crying, crying, crying, in my toy box!
Me: Hunny, I can't help you if I don't know what's wrong....Is there something in your room?
Rett: Yes sniffle sniffle
Me: What's in your room?
Rett: A SPIDER!!! A NAUGHTY SPIDER IS IN MY TOY BOX!!
I go look and can't find it.....
Me: Rett you need to come in her so I know where it is!
Rett come to the door and points to the toy box
Rett: In there!
I look again to find the smallest spider prolly the size of my pinky nail.
Me: Okay I got it,
Rett: Tell it it's a naughty spiders and stay out of my room because your gross!
I just found it funny how dramtic he was about it. But he does HATE spiders! He kept asking me all day "mommy, you got the spider and put it in the potty, that's a naughty spider, spiders don't go in boys' rooms!"

I'm cleaning the toilet with blue toilet cleaner:
Me: Rett, what color is the potty now?
Rett: Blue
Me: Good job buddy
Rett: Mommy, what color does I make the potty water?
Me: I donno what?
Rett: yellow!
I know I should of but I didn't see that one comming lol

Everett and I do this thing where I will say "Mommy loves Everett" and He will reply "Everett loves Mommy."

Me: Daddy will be home in a little while
Rett: We go buh bye with daddy?
Me: Yup, Mommy loves Everett
Rett: Everett loves Daddy More
OUCH, Lol

Finally it's only fair to make fun of Cody!
Cody and I went shopping at Target, Cody remembers he needed more boxers, he leaves me in the kid section. Two seconds later my phone rings:
Cody: babe, what size boxers do I wear?
Me: Really Cody, you don't know
Cody: Are you going to tell me or do I need to make a scene trying to look
Me: No, you wear medium
Cody: k thanks
How does a 24yr old not know his own sizing lol Spoiled brat... I think so :)

Mommy's Little Helper

When Emma's napping is of course the best time to clean. I HATE HATE HATE cleaning I know that's not shocking to most of you! Anywho Today when I was washing the windows Rett decided it looked like fun and continued into the bathroom. I'm not about to stop him from cleaning so please don't turn me in for child labor laws :)

Tenting out

In our desperation to do something "fun" in our house (that we have been stuck in for what feels like FOREVER due to WINTER) we decided to make a tent today. I was already in the process of folding sheets and blankets so I thought why not. I quickly learned that our tent had to have an in and an out for when the scary monsters came so both kids could run out at the same time. They did a really good job playing together accept for when I let them eat popcorn in the tent, you can see it ended up all over my floor! The tent did give me much needed time to put toys away without kids following me around telling me they were still playing with that, or in Emma's language EEEEHHH EEEHHH NAH NAH NAH. I really really really wish spring would come so we could do something OUTSIDE!!!

Emma's Beautiful Locks

Normally Emma's hair is out of control curls! I love it curly don't get me wrong but for a change today I thought hmmm why not straighten it! I don't know how much I like it, but you can see how long her locks really are. :) YES, The sucker may have been my atempt to keep her sitting.

Valentine's Day Party

Everett, Kyler, Camden, Emma

My friends and I decided it would be fun to have a Valentine's Day party at McDonalds. We thought it would be something fun the kids could do indoor, since mother nature HATES us this year and keeps dumping snow on us! We went with Everett's best friends, Kaylee Hennick, Kyler Hennick, and Camden Shirley, and Emma's friends Ambree Shirley and Alivia Parks.

Everett has known his friends since their births kinda lol. Minus Kaylee since she's six she clearly predates him :) But Kyler was born two weeks after Everett and they have been best friends since about nine months :) Steph (Kaylee and Kyler's mom) and I use to work at the same place so we would flip flop kids to save money on daycare, it worked out great! Camden is five weeks younger than Everett. Everett really has known since her birth! We have pictures of them so little they could both sleep in the same Pack and Play(7weeks and 2weeks old).

Emma is right in the middle of her two friends that were there last night. Ambree is seven weeks older than Emma and Alivia was born in December (Emma in August). Ambree and Emma don't always see eye to eye as Ambree is very outgoing and Emma is very shy but we will call them friends known the less! :)

All the kids had a blast last night, little to no fighting :) Its so neat to see how each kid act differently: Kaylee and Kyler ran right up the stairs threw the tunnels and down the slide, Everett would get sidetracked in the tunnels and barley come down the slide, Camden had to warm up to the idea of going up the stairs but once she was in had a blast, Ambree thought the stairs were awesome (i donno if she ever went all the way up), Emma thought the first two stairs were fun and the spinny ball thing, and Alivia preferred to stay on the baby slide. I was shocked that no one feel asleep on the way home (Kaylee and Kyler rode with us) they were on cloud nine the WHOLE way home, which was a little bit of a drive (New Hampton) as Charles City McDonalds decided they didn't need a Play Place anymore! That's just SILLY if you ask me!!!
